Job Descriptions. Final review completed and job descriptions were accepted with minor
amendments.
The CD that just matured was moved to Bank of America.
At the meeting tonight Gay will ask for a committee of 2-3 to volunteer to manage the 2026
Opportunity Quilt showings. She will remind everyone that elections are just around the corner
and Secretary and Treasurer will both be open for election. We also have some committee leads
that would like to move out of their position. Gay will hand out a sign-up sheet for secret quilter
to see if there is enough interest to start this up again in January. We will ask the membership to
vote on whether or not to continue with the Fat Quarters. The program is not bringing in much
money so it is no longer a good fund raiser and there has been limited participation recently.
Secretary. Susan Bloch moved to approve the June minutes. Lori seconded. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report. We started July with $14,604.66 in checking, $9,547.53 in savings and
$10.805.50 in the CDs. We had income of $208.00 and expenses of $135.00. We ended July with
$14,677.66 in checking, $9547.69in savings and $10,840.37 in the CDs. Jeanette moved to
accept the treasurer’s report. Lori seconded. Motion passed.
Membership. We had 25 members, 3 life-time members and 1 new member at the June meeting.
At the July Potluck we had 25 members, 4 life-time members and 3 guests.
Member-at-large. No report.
Community Service. Thanks to all who are participating in community projects. Each
month we provide kits for quilt tops, adult and baby bibs, pillowcases to take home and
stitch and return the next month. We also bring quilts that need to be quilted and
binding finished.
Tickets are given for completed items and participation drawings held once a quarter.
If you know anyone who needs a quilt hug please call Judy L 928 925 1145.
The LVQG stash is available at no cost to members contact Judy. Every month a
bundle of Guild stash is brought in for our trade table, check it out!
Programs. Due to some cancellations we will finish the year about $1000 under budget.
Tonight’s program will be a Sue and Susan trunk show. She has been talking to guilds in Phoenix
that are interested in bringing in a national speaker and asked if we would be interested in being
a part of that and sharing expenses and possibly having them do a class. It would be expensive
but she asked if the guild would subsidized at least a portion of the cost for members. General
consensus was yes for the national speaker so she will pursue that further. September’s program
will be Jean Berger with quilter’s math at the meeting and a landscape piece at the class. That
class will be $10. We have ornaments lined up for the November meeting. Website is up to date.
Internal Workshops. August workshop will be rope sewing. Marcia prefers that we all use a
specific rope which she will make available. September will be a boutique sewing day.
Holiday Boutique. Susan Bloch brought in some dog collar covers. Lori sent out an email
listing what we still need and boutique sewing days. The next one at Shadow Mountain Trailer
Park meeting room will be September 13. Marcia brought the project of the month.
Opportunity Quilt. We will be at the Rusty Barn in August, the County Fair in September, and
the Quail Country Quilters show in October.
Publicity. Nothing new to report. Susan Cupp reminded her that we need to get in Prescott
Women now because they have a long lead time. Lori was wanting some confirmation that we
are actually in the Elks newsletter as we have paid for it.
Block of the Month. Susan Bloch will hand out this month’s block of the month and draw for
the blocks brought in tonight.
Old Business.
New Business. Susan is managing the Christmas party. Wants to do a gift exchange with
homemade gifts. She is interested in having it catered this year. There was some discussion about
a member gift. Possibly a gift certificate to the local quilt stores, possibly a subsidy to the retreat
for one day with the balance paid by the member.
Gay moved to adjourn, Susan Corwin seconded. Motion passed.
Meeting adjourned 6:18.
