Gay will make arrangements to get Gloria on the Bank of America account as our current
Treasurer.
We are still looking for a team to coordinate the placement of our 2026 opportunity quilt. The
quilt will be completed before the home show. Sue Von Hagel showed a quilted table topper she
made for when we are at events showing our opportunity quilt.
We are planning an Executive Planning session for late February.
Gay is trying to get our new banner repaired. She does have seven names for getting quotes.
We checked the inventory of bookmarks and appear to have plenty for now with over 1400.
The subject was brought up again about offering gift certificates to the club members. Tami
made a motion to draw six names rather than just three at the quarterly drawings for anyone who
helps with boutique items. Susan Bloch seconded and the motion passed.
Secretary. Tami moved to approve the November minutes. Gay seconded. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report. We were charged a fee again for excess deposits. Tami asked Gay to
mention that at the bank when she is getting Gloria on the account. We also had a $42 charge
regarding the Square but no one knows exactly what that was for. Tami also mentioned that the
refund that was written for Mary Terry from last year’s retreat has not been cashed and Mary
Terry had said repeatedly she would not do so. Gay made a motion to void the check. Susan
Bloch seconded. Motion passed. For December we had income of $273.00 and expenses of
$737.45. We finished December with $19,058.50 in checking, $7,896.35 in savings, and
$17,153.33 in the CDs. Jeanette moved to accept the Treasurer’s report. Susan Cupp seconded.
Motion passed.
Membership. We had 27 members, 1 life-time members, and 3 guests at the November meeting.
We had 27 members and 7 life-time members at the Christmas party in December.
So far we have 35 members who have paid their 2026 dues and 8 life-time members.
Budget. Judy is getting data from the committee chairs for building the budget.
Community Service. 168 quilts and 204 miscellaneous items were distributed in November.
Judy has also been contacted by the US Vets regarding the opening of 27 new apartment units at
the end of February for homeless vets and she has committed to providing quilts and pillow cases
for those units from the community service projects.
Member-at-large. No report.
Programs. Ronnie Sandoval is booked for January with a presentation on “The Importance of
Thread”. Marcia asked Susan to arrange Saturday workshop programs for February and March
and she was able to arrange for Martie Winkleman for a two day program (split between the
months) for embellishments to be used for apparel or any other quilted project. Martie will
display samples at the January meeting. Susan needed approval for the January program and the
February and March Saturday events to be paid. Susan Cupp made the motion to approve
payment. Susan Bloch seconded. Motion passed.
Website. Susan Cupp reported the website is needing some work and that she would be reaching
out to Marcia to get that completed.
Internal Workshops. Gay will be demonstrating draft stoppers at the regular workshop and
Susan Cupp will demonstrate making owls at the Saturday workshop in January.
Holiday Boutique. The dates for 2026 are October 16 th and 17 th . Kym Mayer will be the chair
with mentoring from Lori. If you are interesting in being on Kym’s committee please contact her.
There was a report on the survey regarding publicity of the last boutique and word of mouth,
flyers, and internet were listed as way most folks heard about the event.
Publicity. Linda says that efforts on publicity are slow right now with the Boutique still several
months in the future.
Retreat. Jennie Orosz has paid the deposit to reserve Chino Crafter’s Cottage for our retreat over
Memorial Day weekend. We have an arrival date of May 22 and departure of May 25. The extra
day will result in a slightly higher cost.
Block of the Month. Susan Bloch will administer the Block of the Month again this year with a
difference that she will explain at the general meeting.
New Business. Gay asked if we wanted to consider replacing the tablet we use for sales at the
Boutique and the consensus was yes. Gay will do some research on that.
Meeting adjourned 6:20pm.
